STAR: Student Testing, Advising & Registration at Aquinas College

Information for Parents & Families

Parents and families are encouraged to attend Family Day and learn how to support their first year student's academic and co-curricular experiences. The charge for lunch and materials is $15 per guest (no charge for student).  Remember that parents/families and AQ students will have separate schedules and will rejoin at the end of the day for the last session. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes to maneuver campus.

Parents and families need to register for Family sessions, too. If you did not register when your student signed up for STAR, please contact the Admissions office by e-mail at or call (616) 632-2900 to reserve your space.
Why should I register?
Family Day offers Aquinas-specific support for you as family members as you transition to the new relationship you have with your AQ student. The day is designed to answer the questions that you may have (or didn't know that you have) about basic needs for your student and how to prepare for that transition to college in August.

You will receive lunch, interact with campus departments, and enjoy some time with fellow families of incoming Aquinas College freshmen. This is a day to define the partnership between Aquinas College and your family, and to see the important place that you hold as a member of the AQ community. Please join us!

A more detailed schedule of events will be available as the date approached, but you can expect large group presentations as well as small group breakout sessions, where you will hear from staff and faculty from across campus, including Student Accounts, Campus Safety, Campus Dining, Student Affairs offices, and more! The day will begin with an opening presentation and welcome at 9:00am and will conclude around 4:30pm, when you will be reunited with your student.
