    Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring

During the duration of the semester, peer tutoring visits will be conducted on a virtual basis beginning on March 23rd. Tutees should contact their tutor to coordinate a virtual visit. Visits are available through Google hangouts, phone call, text, email, and Skype.

Drop-in tutoring and study groups will be conducted through Google hangouts. Please refer to the drop-in tutoring and study group schedule link below to view days and times. Students should contact tutors through Google hangouts through the provided email address.

Peer Tutoring Services will continue to accept one-on-one tutor requests and will fulfill per tutor availability.

Questions can be directed to peertutoring@aquinas.edu or Jill Straub straujil@aquinas.edu.

Thank you for your patience in this challenging time.

Drop-In Tutoring and Study Groups

Last Day for Drop-In Tutoring and Study Groups: Friday, April 24, 2020

Individual Tutoring

Last Day to Request a Tutor: Friday, April 3, 2020

Peer Tutoring Services provide individual or small-group tutoring for most courses. Tutors meet with students to

  • Examine Student Learning Strategies
  • Review Information
  • Discuss Content of Reading Assignments
  • Work through Examples of Homework Problems

Peer tutors have excellent academic records and are always recommended by faculty to assure reliable assistance. They are trained in tutoring techniques and work under the supervision of the Peer Tutor Coordinator .
To request a tutor, please click on the link above, "Request a Peer Tutor."  Assigning a peer tutor may take up to ten working days. Once the match-up is made, the time for tutoring sessions is arranged between the peer tutor and student. Peer tutors are not guaranteed for courses that offer organized study groups or drop-in tutoring.
Students who are interested in becoming a peer tutor require a faculty referral of that specific department.

Contact Jill Straub at 616-632-2170 or email peertutoring@aquinas.edu for more information on Peer Tutoring.
