COVID-19 Peer Tutoring Update: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all tutoring sessions will occur virtually. Please be sure to read below to find out how you can receive tutoring this semester.

Hello and welcome to the Fall 2020 semester! Peer Tutoring Services continues to serve your tutoring needs in an all virtual format.

One-on-one tutor requests: if you would like a one-on-one tutor, please scroll down to the “Request a Peer Tutor” button. This will direct you to the request form for a peer tutor. All one- on-one tutoring appointments will take place virtually. Virtual appointments will occur through GoBoard.com. This is a free tutoring platform and only requires an internet connection. Please contact your tutor for directions on how to set up a GoBoard tutoring session. It’s easy!

Drop-in tutoring: All drop-in tutoring sessions will be conducted using GoBoard.com. To attend a drop-in tutoring session, scroll down to the “View Drop-in Tutoring and Study Group Schedule” button and look for your discipline or class. The drop-in tutors’ days and hours are listed, as well as their email address. Please email the tutor to set up an appointment.

Study groups: All study groups will be conducted virtually through Zoom. Prior to the study group session, the study group leader will email you an invitation with a link to the Zoom meeting.

Peer Tutoring Services provide individual or small-group tutoring for most courses. Tutors meet with students to

  • Examine Student Learning Strategies
  • Review Information
  • Discuss Content of Reading Assignments
  • Work through Examples of Homework Problems

Peer tutors have excellent academic records and are always recommended by faculty to assure reliable assistance. They are trained in tutoring techniques and work under the supervision of the Peer Tutor Coordinator .

To request a tutor, please click on the link above, "Request a Peer Tutor."  Assigning a peer tutor may take up to ten working days. Once the match-up is made, the time for tutoring sessions is arranged between the peer tutor and student. Peer tutors are not guaranteed for courses that offer organized study groups or drop-in tutoring.

Students who are interested in becoming a peer tutor require a faculty referral of that specific department.
