Timothy Jenks, Ph.D.

Adjunct Professor of Management


Timothy Jenks grew up in Northeast Ohio. His father, Donald Jenks, published poetry, short stories, scripts, and translations from Russian and Spanish, with particular acclaim for his translations of the poetry of the Spanish royalist, Garcia Lorca. His mother, Elsa Berta Jenks, began violin studies at the age of 4, performed a debut concert in Cleveland at age 11, and held a number of orchestra positions. Both worked as professional business people in the Cleveland area as well.

Timothy began piano and organ studies at the age of 4 and also studied oboe, guitar, voice, composition and conducting. He has performed occasionally as a solo vocalist, with a repertory of folk, gospel and blues music. He served a number of churches as choir director beginning at age sixteen, and including ten years as choir director of St. George Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids, MI. He has worked extensively in Orthodox churches, conducting, singing, and chanting in Russian, Greek and Arabic traditions. In 1994, the bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church tonsured him as a reader, a minor order of clergy.

He completed a degree in Economics at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and an MBA at the University of Missouri, with additional religious studies at Calvary Bible College, Western Theological Seminary, and St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. He completed a PhD at Clayton College of Natural Health in 2006. He has held several professional positions in Information Technology, including operations, programming, systems development, and Information Services management.

Currently, he owns and operates TeleReports, Inc., a telecom data analytics firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and serves as chairman of the Economic Develop Alliance for Oscoda County, and as a member of the Kirtland Community College Foundation Board. He is also Adjunct Professor of Graduate Management at Aquinas College.
