
Biography
Sarah Bowman is a music teacher, choir director, and vocalist from West Michigan (Muskegon). She has been involved with several school and community music groups since returning to Michigan in 2015 after completing coursework towards a PhD at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music (FL). As a K-12 music teacher, Sarah has worked for Fruitport Community Schools and Reeths-Puffer, as well as a vocal coach and accompanist at West Shore Community College and Muskegon Community College. She has also taught at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and St. Cecilia's Music Center. Sarah is passionate about facilitating a variety of opportunities for all people to experience music. She considers herself a general music specialist with one foot in the choral world, and has a multitude of experience teaching K-12, college, and senior/adult learners. She is a classically trained vocalist with an enthusiasm for cross-over genres (e.g., pop, musical theater, barbershop). Sarah holds degrees in music education from Grand Valley State University and the University of Michigan.
