Personal and Shared Responsibility

"The mark of an Aquinas Saint is that even when people are not looking, you are doing the things that you know are right to keep people safe.”
President Kevin G. Quinn

Your fellow Aquinas Saints, and by extension, the larger community are counting on you to keep them as safe and healthy as possible. Campus health and safety practices and protocols apply to anyone doing business on campus, including but not limited to students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, suppliers and guests.

Saints Together Pledge

Aquinas faculty, staff and students will be asked to sign the Saints Together Pledge and ensure their behavior is aligned with all elements of the pledge whether on or off campus.

The link for the Saints Together Pledge and Training Module was emailed to students. The pledge and training module should be completed prior to Move-In (residential students) or the start of classes (non-residential students). Employees will receive the pledge via email and can return the signed pledge to HR.

Aquinas College expects all members of our community to adhere to this pledge both on and off campus. Students who do not adhere to this pledge have violated the Honor Code and may be subject to judicial sanction. Faculty and staff who do not adhere to this pledge may be subject to performance counseling by the Provost, their manager or the Office of Human Resources. Please do not be confrontational with others regarding safety and health protocols. All concerns should be reported to the Director of Campus Safety or the Director of Human Resources.

Education and Training

The link for the Saints Together Pledge and Training Module was emailed to students. The pledge and training module should be completed prior to Move-In (residential students) or the start of classes (non-residential students). Faculty and staff will complete required employee training modules through HR prior to returning to on-campus work.

Health and Safety Protocols

All faculty, staff, students and guests will adhere to health and safety practices and protocols including wearing cloth face coverings, practicing social distancing, washing hands frequently and keeping spaces clean.

Monitoring and Reporting

All faculty, staff, students and guests will self-monitor and report symptoms of COVID-19 through daily symptom self-screens. Counseling, Health and Wellness Services; the Health Center; Athletic Training and Human Resources will oversee a comprehensive and integrated plan for monitoring the health and safety of our community in collaboration with the Kent County Health Department.

Virtual Connection

When social distancing practices are difficult to maintain, faculty, staff, students and guests will use virtual and other remote tools to build community and collaboration.
