The Campus Vote Project provides voting guides for students in every state to help you make a personalized plan to vote.
Students have a choice about where to register to vote. Students attending college may register at their campus address or choose to remain registered or register at their permanent or home address. You may only be registered and vote in one location.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recommendations for voting safely
- To ensure Michigan voters remain healthy and reduce the spread of COVID-19 during the Nov. 3 general election, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has provided recommendations for voters, poll workers and election officials (PDF).

- All registered voters may vote early by visiting their city or township clerk’s office through Nov. 2. There they can request, fill out and submit an absentee ballot all in one trip, or take their ballot home to fill out and sign the envelope before returning it to one of their jurisdiction’s ballot drop boxes by 8 p.m. on Nov 3. Election workers, who are required to wear masks, will ask voters to show photo ID.
- Eligible citizens who are not yet registered may register, request and submit an absentee ballot at their local clerk’s office through 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Volunteer to be an Election Poll Worker
Did you know that Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids have long served as election poll workers? Many of them will not be able to this year. Because of the pandemic, many long-time election workers, often more at-risk because of age, are not able to safely volunteer this year.
In honor of our Dominican Sisters, low-risk, eligible community members whose schedules and ability permit may consider volunteering as a poll worker. Employees who wish to volunteer will need to use vacation time. All faculty, staff and student volunteers are required to wear a cloth face covering, practice social distancing and practice good hygiene while volunteering.
Remember to vote and, if eligible and able, consider volunteering as an election worker!

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel invite you to a nonpartisan, virtual town hall and rally about how students can make their voice heard in the general election. This virtual event will be an opportunity to remind students of the key deadlines and voting rights information they need to know so that they can make their plan to vote. Join us for a last hurrah before you go vote!

Civilize It: Dignity Beyond the Debate campaign from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Young adults are invited to join an online conversation about participating in politics, exercising our conscience, and engaging in dialogue in the public square and at home – before and after this year’s election.
Mark Mann, director for family, youth, and young adult ministries for the Diocese of Grand Rapids will lead gatherings on Wednesday, October 21 and again on Sunday, October 25, starting at 7 p.m. Space is limited; pre-registration is requested.
