Aquinas College's $32 Million Science Facility Expansion and Enhancement is Well Underway

As a part of our commitment to the sciences, Aquinas College has embarked on a campaign that includes a $32 million renovation and expansion of our science facilities. Our science expansion is paving the way for new programs, innovative research, and student engagement to prepare scientists, nurses, engineers, and mathematicians who will contribute to the regional STEM workforce, education initiatives and research.

By 2020, demand for talent in the health and technology fields will increase by 16.5% and health support practitioners by 23.9%. This new facility will complement our talented and experienced faculty and staff, grow undergraduate research and internships with local employers and create a new Institute for Sustainability and Economicology.

Construction is underway to expand Albertus Magnus Hall with the addition of a brand new Sister Aquinas Weber Wing, slated for completion in 2019, along with a renovation of the existing facility. A few of the upgrades include:

  • Flexible general anatomy and physiology, microbiology and nursing labs to support the biology, health science, and nursing programs
  • Modern chemistry labs including general, organic, advanced, and biochemistry
  • Research laboratories for faculty research and faculty-mentored student research
  • New teaching laboratories
  • New Geography and Physics labs, including a Geospatial Technologies computer lab
  • Collaborative student spaces
  • Three-story glass atrium featuring "Science on Display"
  • LEED Silver Certification

Science at Aquinas College is more than just lectures and assignments. It provides students and faculty multiple lenses through which to pursue the truth and to experience the awe and wonder of the created world.
