Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind
(30 Plays in 60 Minutes)

By Greg Allen
Directed by Scott Harman

This production is a selection of 30 Neo-Futurist plays from the original production of "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind," which ran between 1988-2016 and was a cornerstone of the Chicago Theatre community. Actors perform 30 separate plays while working against a visible 60 minute clock. The catch? They don't know the order! The audience shouts out which play they want to see next, the actors perform it, and the shouting begins again! The plays range from the irreverent to the profound and from hilarious to shattering.

Performances are Oct. 7-9, 2021, at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 10, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. in the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center.

NOTE: These plays will be best enjoyed by adult audiences.

Big Smoke

By Finegan Kruckemeyer
Directed by Scott Harman

Bethany and Jimmy have big imaginations and an unstoppable friendship. It’s no surprise, then, that a day off school turns into a big adventure for them. They tour around their neighborhood on Cloveny Street, and along the way they meet people, face danger, and solve cake-related crimes.

Thanks to a generous grant provided by The National Endowment for the Arts, we have the opportunity to produce this show with accessibility standards in place, and will be touring this production to a number of community partners in the Grand Rapids area.

Main Stage performances are Feb, 24-26, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 27, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., in the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center. Tour dates and locations are TBA.

HEAD OVER HEELS is the bold new musical comedy from the visionaries that rocked Broadway with Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Avenue Q and Spring Awakening. This laugh-out-loud love story is set to the music of the iconic 1980s all-female rock band The Go-Go’s, including the hit songs, “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” “Vacation,” Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.”

A hilarious, exuberant celebration of love, HEAD OVER HEELS follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom from extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.

Performances are April 7-9, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., and April 10, 2022, at 2:30 p.m., in the Aquinas College Performing Arts Center.
