Accreditations

Athletic Training

The undergraduate Athletic Training program (ATP) at Aquinas College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) located at 6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731-3184. This accreditation is indicated by the accompanying CAATE seal. The program is scheduled to have its next comprehensive review during the 2019-2020 academic year. Due to changes in CAATE standards which now require a Masters degree in Athletic Training, the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training Degree will no longer be accepting applications for incoming freshman. All enrolled students must complete their degree by May of 2020.

Education

The School of Education at Aquinas College is one of 46 providers from 22 states and Puerto Rico to receive Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Accreditation in Spring 2018 for its educator preparation programs. Aquinas College was one of 147 providers approved under the CAEP teacher preparation standards—rigorous, nationally recognized standards that were developed to ensure excellence in educator preparation programs. The School of Education at Aquinas College earned the highest level of accreditation and has held TEAC/CAEP accreditation since March 2013.

Engineering

The Western Michigan University Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

The Western Michigan University Civil Engineering degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Music

Aquinas College is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)

Nursing

The University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) offers a 4-year baccalaureate program in nursing at Aquinas College (AQ). This unique partnership with Aquinas College and Mercy Health Saint Mary's provides the opportunity to complete liberal arts and supportive coursework at AQ taught by Aquinas faculty. All nursing coursework is taught by UDM faculty. Students gain hands on clinical experience at Mercy Health Saint Mary's and other facilities throughout West Michigan. Students graduate with a BSN from UDM. The baccalaureate program at the University of Detroit Mercy is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791.


Aquinas College has maintained accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission since 1946.
