Nursing Program
The University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) offers a four-year baccalaureate program in nursing at Aquinas College (AQ). This unique partnership with Aquinas College and Mercy Health Saint Mary's provides the opportunity to complete liberal arts and supportive coursework at AQ taught by Aquinas faculty. All nursing coursework is taught by UDM faculty. Students gain hands-on clinical experience at Mercy Health Saint Mary's and other facilities throughout West Michigan. Students graduate with a BSN from UDM. The baccalaureate program at the University of Detroit Mercy is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791.
Freshman Students
In order to be considered for the nursing program you must fill out an Aquinas College Application, either a hard copy or online. A hard copy can be obtained from the Aquinas College Admissions Office, or one can be mailed to you. After you submit your application for admission you must send your official high school transcripts (through junior year) and any standardized test scores available. We will accept ACT and/or SAT scores.
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5 overall
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5 within all math and science courses
- Minimum Composite Score of 21 on AC
Transfer Students
- Minimum Cumulative College GPA of 3.0 overall
- Minimum Cumulative College GPA of 3.0 within all math and science courses
There are no prerequisites that are required to transfer into the nursing program. Transfer students are allowed to transfer a maximum of 32 credits into the program and are required to attend the program full-time for four years.
