Coach Bo Court
Coach Bo Court
Coach Bo Court is the primary competition and event venue in the Sturr
us Sports & Fitness Center at Aquinas College, home to the Saints Men's and Women's basketball, Men's and Women's volleyball, cheerleading, and dance teams. Opening in 2010 following a significant investment in campus athletics and
wellness, the facility features modern seating for approximately 2,000 spectators,
along with updated scoreboards, locker rooms, and training areas.
The court is named in honor of longtime athletic director and coach Terry “Coach Bo” Bocian, who dedicated over 40 years to Aquinas athletics and was instrumental in developing the college’s sports programs and obtaining support for the Sturrus Center.
In addition to hosting Aquinas sports, Coach Bo Court serves as one of the college’s largest gathering spaces. The venue regularly accommodates major campus traditions, including commencement ceremonies, student-athlete kickoff meetings, and spirit events such as the annual “Saint Slam,” which marks the beginning of the winter sports season. It also hosts athletic camps, dance competitions, tournaments, Hall of Fame ceremonies, and community events, underscoring its role as a central hub for campus and regional activities.
