Aquinas College Athletic Field
Aquinas College Athletic Field
Whether you want to shoot, pass, or kick, the AQ Athletic Field is the place to get
out there and play. Home of the Saints' men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse teams, the field features artificial turf and outdoor bleacher seating,
making it a modern, flexible venue right in Grand Rapids. When the synthetic turf
was installed in 2007, Aquinas became the first school in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic
Conference (WHAC) to have an artificial soccer field. This upgrade also allowed the
college to start its lacrosse program in 2009.
The AQ Athletic Field has become a top spot for college sports. In 2018 and 2019, Aquinas worked with the NAIA and the West Michigan Sports Commission to host the NAIA Men's and Women's Lacrosse National Invitational. This was the first time Aquinas hosted a full national college tournament on campus. Teams from all over the country came to compete, highlighting the quality of the field and the energy of the Grand Rapids community.
