LeAnn Secord '05, '20
President

LeAnn Secord is the current president of the Alumni Leadership Council. She is proud to be an Aquinas Alum as part of the class of 2005 (Bachelor of Arts) and the class of 2020 (Master of Management). She currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Development at the Grand Rapids Symphony. LeAnn is working to complete her Doctorate of Business Administration through Indiana Wesleyan University. In her free time, LeAnn enjoys volunteering with Corewell Health Hospice, serving on the board of the Well Being Foundation, and being an active member of the Movers and Shakers Optimist Club of Greater Grand Rapids. In her free time, LeAnn enjoys spending time with her Guinea pigs (Wade and Dave) and her puppy (Potato).

Sophie Fischer '21
Vice President

Sophie Fischer graduated in 2021 with a major in communication and a minor in marketing. She then went on to be an Executive Team Lead with Target which taught her a lot about business and management while giving her many meaningful connections along the way. In 2023 Sophie switched industries, moving into the healthcare space as a product coordinator with Skytron where she has helped launch 2 products and is currently working on two more. One thing Sophie remembers is how it was an AQ alumni who reached out right after she started her new job and made her feel welcome. The AQ network really does run deep. In her free time Sophie is the Vice President of the Aquinas Alumni Leadership Council where she helps to give back to the AQ community. She also enjoys reading and has recently picked up pickleball which she hopes to get better at. Sophie is very passionate about mentorship and helping others just as she had mentors during her college time.

Alex Wilson '12
Council Member

Alexandra Wilson is passionate about connecting others and serving the community. A seasoned fundraiser, she is the Director of Personal Giving for Samaritas and is the Founder of Drinks and Development, a free networking group for fundraisers. A proud Rotarian in the Grand Rapids Club, Alex serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors as well as Chairs the Podcast Committee and Rotary Charities Foundation Event Committee, Co-Chairs the Golf Affinity group, and serves on the community engagement and district conference committees. She is the recipient of the Rotary Club of Grand Rapid’s Gift of Time Award for 2025.

Her service to the community continues through advocacy by serving on boards and committees like GRFD Fire Prevention Foundation, Leading Ladies, Aquinas College Alumni Leadership Council, and Women of Habitat Kent among many others. 

Alex enjoys golfing, boxing, volunteering, decorating and hosting. She lives with her plethora of rescue animals including blue heeler Jax and loves to spend time with her parents, friends, and adventure buddy, boyfriend Anthony.
