A Statement from Aquinas College President Kevin Quinn on the passing of Peter Secchia

Published on

Aquinas College President Kevin G. Quinn issued the following statement on the passing of Peter Secchia, a donor and friend of the College.

“We at Aquinas College join those in West Michigan and beyond in mourning the loss of Peter Secchia. We are deeply thankful for Peter's many contributions to our community, especially those focused on advancing higher education. Many of our AQ graduates go on to attend Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, and we are incredibly blessed to have this resource here in Grand Rapids, thanks to his visionary leadership. His legacy will forever be part of this community.

Peter and his wife, Joan, have also made many generous contributions to Aquinas. In addition to supporting our College through their giving, Joan served six years on our Board of Trustees. She continues to have an impact on Aquinas as a member of our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Board. Together, their commitment to community and service is truly admirable.

On behalf of the Aquinas community, we offer our prayers and deepest condolences to Mrs. Secchia and the entire Secchia family.”
