Aquinas College offers campus tree and leaf collection tours

Published on

Aquinas College continues its fall tradition of tree and leaf tours during the month of October.

Visitors can experience fall colors on a guided golf-cart tour of the 117-acre, tree-covered campus. The 45-minute tour features 75 different tree species and a brief history of campus woodlands.

Aquinas welcomes local students of all ages and their families to schedule tours, participate in leaf collection, and learn about our trees and our campus. Educators may schedule group tours. Private tours are also available.

Spots are limited, and reservations are required. Interested parties may contact leaftour@aquinas.edu to schedule a tour.

Aquinas College’s historic campus is noted for its distinctive woodlands and is guided by the College’s Urban Forest Initiative, which provides structure, support, investment and engagement opportunities, and a plan to manage this unique and important feature of the campus.

Earlier this year, Aquinas college was honored with 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation, which honors colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.
