Center for Opportunities, Resources, and Excellence (CORE) provides peer tutoring, writing services, English language and global student support, and peer coaching.

In response to the campus moving to distance learning starting on Monday, March 23rd. We will be providing as many services as possible remotely. Our goal is to maintain our essential CORE services to support students, faculty, and staff. To access or utilize CORE services, please review the CORE and Accessibility Resources Flyer. This is a moment of great challenge, but we are here to support you.

March 30 - Personal Statement workshop
April 1 - Foolish Poets workshops
April 22 - AQ Night to Get It Done

Services we provide include: Accommodations, academic and transition support for ESL and Global Students, Peer Coaching, Peer Tutoring, Writing Center Consultation. CORE works to ensure equal access for students to explore cultural opportunities, utilize campus and community resources, and achieve academic excellence.

ESL and Global Student Services (ESL & GSS):

ESL & GSS provides assistance to global students, English language learners, and multicultural students. We ease students’ transition into Aquinas College and further their academic and personal growth.

Peer Coaching:

Peer Coaches are trained to assist incoming students as they transition to the rigor of college academics. Academic themed workshops and social events are available throughout the academic year.

Peer Tutoring Services:

We are committed to your academic growth and success. We hire and train highly qualified tutors to provide individual or small-group tutoring for most courses on a long-term or short-term basis.

Student Support Services (SSS):

A federally funded academic support program designed to improve persistence, academic performance, and graduation of low income students, first generation in college students, and students with disabilities enrolled in postsecondary education.

Writing Center:

Individual consultations are free for the entire AQ community of writers: students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Writing Center consultants are highly trained and prepared to consult on a variety of writing projects—academic, professional, and personal.—across disciplines and genres.
