Grand Rapids, Mich. - Aquinas College has been selected to receive a grant of $238,646 under the Student Support Services (SSS) Program by the United States Department of Education, Office of Legislation and Congressional Affairs. The grant will be used to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements and motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. Aquinas proposes to serve 160 eligible participants with the grant money. Participants are identified as low-income, first generation college students or individuals with disabilities. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.
