Lingnan University professors, administrators and students to learn about service-learning and community engagement

On Thursday, June 5, from 2:30 to 6 p.m., Aquinas College will host a delegation of 17 faculty, administrator and student representatives from Lingnan University in Hong Kong. The delegation will learn, from Aquinas faculty and staff, the importance of successfully integrating service-learning and community engagement into college curriculum.

Aquinas has been recognized nationally for its work in this area. In 2013, Aquinas as named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes a college’s commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. Service-learning engages students in civic responsibility, critical thinking, and structured reflection by actively involving them in organized community service. This prepares students for a lifetime of personal growth and social responsibility.
