Grand Rapids, Michigan (October 20, 2006) - The sustainability movement in the United States has made some great strides in gaining public acceptance in recent years. More and more companies and many of the communities in which they do business are looking closer at how sustainability can be incorporated into their operations. Sustainability efforts have become a major focus for many communities, including Grand Rapids.

As part of the National Campus Sustainability Day (Oct. 26) celebration, one of the local leaders in sustainable design, developer Guy Bazzani, will talk about his efforts to expand sustainability concepts into the designs of several area projects. He will share details about his efforts during a noontime presentation in the Loutit Room of the Wege Student Center at Aquinas College on Thursday, October 26, 2006, beginning at 12:15 p.m. Bazzani led the effort to redesign the East Hills District of Grand Rapids as part of the sustainability movement.

A series of displays focusing on sustainable practices will be open for viewing beginning at 11:30 a.m.
