SMS Messaging Terms and Conditions

This page provides the terms and conditions regarding SMS messaging communications from the Office of Alumni and Community Engagement at Aquinas College.

The Office of Alumni and Community Engagement sends text messages to communicate with alumni about Homecoming and reunion events, volunteer and engagement opportunities, giving campaigns like Saintsgiving, alumni news, and other updates related to the Aquinas community. Subscribing to this service is not required to remain part of the Aquinas College Alumni Association or to receive other communications from the college. This service simply provides an additional way to stay connected to news and events the college believes will be helpful and relevant to you as an alum.

Opt-In

Alumni may opt-in to receiving text messages (i.e., SMS messages) by submitting their contact information through the Communication Preferences form at aquinas.edu/alumni, by updating their information through the Alumni Update Form, or by providing their mobile number at an alumni event or in direct communication with our office. Consent to receive SMS messages is optional and is not a condition of alumni status, event participation, or any other engagement with Aquinas College.

Messaging Costs

Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. When you opt-in to receive SMS messages, you are responsible for any carrier fees such as data plan charges, text messaging charges, tolls, out-of-area roaming, and other related charges. Messaging frequency varies based on upcoming events and college activity. Check with your mobile carrier for details on receiving text messages (SMS).

Carriers

Note that SMS communications from the Office of Alumni and Community Engagement may not be available through all mobile carriers.

STOP/Opt-Out Information

If you wish to opt-out of text messages, text STOP to stop receiving text messages from the Alumni Office. You can text HELP for help. You may also update your preferences through the Communication Preferences form at aquinas.edu/alumni. Please note that opting out will remove you from all future text communications from the Alumni Office, including event invitations and reminders, unless you choose to re-subscribe in the future.

SMS Privacy Disclosure

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are collected solely for the purpose of delivering the text messages described at the time of opt-in. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, shared, transferred, or disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We do not share text messaging originator opt-in data or consent with any third parties, except with trusted service providers that assist us in delivering SMS communications (such as messaging platform providers), and only for the purpose of facilitating message delivery and related support services.
