Grand Rapids, Mich. – On Thursday, December 18, 2014, Aquinas College and Montcalm Community College (MCC) signed an agreement that gives students more education options.

An articulation agreement between the two institutions allows students who have earned an Associate of Liberal Studies degree from MCC with a minimum 2.0 GPA in all transferrable courses, to transfer up to 64 credits to Aquinas College toward a bachelor’s degree. Students must meet other transfer course requirements, as outlined in the agreement.

Aquinas President Juan R. Olivarez, Ph.D., and MCC President Robert C. Ferrentino, J.D., were on hand to sign the agreement at MCC’s Sidney campus.

“This articulation agreement between Aquinas College and Montcalm Community College will establish a formal process whereby students can seamlessly move from their associate degree to a baccalaureate degree,” said Olivarez. “It is important to us that students not lose time or credits in the transition, and this agreement will assure that the transfer goes smoothly.”

“Articulation agreements such as this give students a great advantage to acquire needed credentials by offering a seamless process for them as they move through the educational system from one institution to another,” Ferrentino said. “We are pleased to partner with Aquinas to help students achieve their dreams of college completion.”
