The Aquinas College Contemporary Writers Series presents Elena Passarello, author and actress. Passarello is the author of Let Me Clear My Throat (Sarabande 2012), and her writings on music, performance, pop culture, and the natural world have appeared in Slate, Creative Nonfiction, The Normal School, Ninth Letter, The Iowa Review, and the 2012 music writing anthology Pop When the World Falls Apart (Duke University Press 2012). She recently won a gold medal in the Independent Book Publishers Nonfiction category.

A graduate of the writing programs at the University of Pittsburgh (BA) and University of Iowa (MFA), Passarello now lives in Corvallis, Oregon, where she is an Assistant Professor at Oregon State University.

This free public event will be held on September 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Aquinas College Wege Ballroom.

Founded in 1997 by Dr. Tony and Linda Nemec Foster, the Aquinas College Contemporary Writers Series has brought writers from around the world to West Michigan, allowing Grand Rapids to meet some of the best writers working in the English language today. The Series is coordinated by a committee of Aquinas College staff, faculty and alumni.
