GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan, September 5, 2001 Aquinas College is hosting a Jazz Concert on Sunday, September 30th in Kretschmer Recital Hall, Aquinas College Art and Music Center. Donations accepted to benefit the Dr. Bruce R. Early Jazz Studies Scholarship.

The Dr. Bruce R. Early Jazz Studies Scholarship, was named and begun after the sudden death of long-time faculty member, Bruce Early. This award is designed to assist a full-time undergraduate student specializing in Jazz Studies with a view toward excellence in obtaining a degree.

Performing at the jazz concert will be Dr. Paul Brewer, Associate Professor of Music, Aquinas College on trombone; Robin Connell, Adjunct Piano Faculty, Aquinas College and Steve Talaga, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music, Aquinas College on piano; David Hey, visiting artist on bass; and drummer Tim Francek, Jazz Camp Faculty, Aquinas College.
