Brian J. DiVita begins serving as director of Graduate Management Studies at Aquinas College on Monday August 2. Nanette Clatterbuck, Associate Provost of Graduate and Professional Studies says, "We are excited to welcome Brian DiVita to the Aquinas community and are looking forward to working with him and gaining from his expertise."

He has been a practitioner in the field of marketing, management and communications for the past 20 years, serving in operational, analytical, managerial and executive roles. After working corporate for a decade, DiVita served as an international marketing research consultant serving multiple industries throughout North America, Asia, and Europe, including CPG, retail, food service, automotive, office furniture, pharmaceutical and healthcare.

DiVita's domestic and international background in marketing science includes authoring over 1,000 proprietary studies for corporations with some of the world's largest brands such as BMW, Michelin, Miller Brewing Co., Motorola, Pizza Hut, and Unilever. In addition to his Fortune 500 experience, he has also consulted with multiple non-profit organizations, including hospitals, schools, national associations and private universities. Brian has also consulted for local, state and federal governments, including the F.T.A., D.O.T., Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Aside from this, Brian has personally moderated over 300 focus groups throughout his 20-year career.

Professor DiVita has over fifteen years of experience instructing at the graduate and undergraduate level in both state university and private college settings. Aside from this, he has developed coursework internationally and also acted as a doctoral research advisor. DiVita currently serves in a full-time capacity as a professor of Management & Marketing in the College of Business, and also as lead faculty chairing the Management and Leadership program at St. Petersburg College. DiVita is SACS / NCACS / AACSB-PQ credentialed in the fields of communication, management and marketing.

His subject matter expertise is in the architectural research design of applied primary quantitative analytics. DiVita's scholarly research focus is on the predictability of markets, consumer behavior and personal consumption, based on micro- and macro-economic trends, demography and popular culture.

DiVita's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Communication with a concentration in communication research from Grand Valley State University; a Master of Management with a concentration in marketing from Aquinas College; a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Aquinas College; a certification from the School of Marketing Research at the University of Notre Dame; as well as an "Expert" level Professional Research Certification ("PRC") from the Marketing Research Association in Glastonbury, Conn., where DiVita was recently appointed as a board member to serve on their Academic Advisory Board.
