Aquinas College has announced that Terry Bocian, athletics director and baseball coach emeritus, will return to the AQ dugout this spring to assist Head Baseball Coach Doug Greenslate.

"I never lost the passion to coach baseball during the past several years, so the opportunity to work with Coach Greenslate and our young people is like a dream come true," Bocian stated.

Bocian said he was approached last fall by a couple of colleges to leave Aquinas and head their baseball programs. He discussed the situation with Aquinas President Ed Balog, Ph.D.

"I am forever indebted to him for making this opportunity possible. There is really no place that I wanted to coach other than Aquinas," Bocian noted. "Greenslate is like another son to me and I am overjoyed about helping him. I will do anything he needs done to benefit the Saints program."

During his 30 year career as Aquinas baseball coach, Bocian led his teams to over 1,000 victories and is a member of the NAIA Baseball Hall of Fame and the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame. He remains as the College's athletics director.

Bocian will join the baseball team for its annual spring training trip March 2-8 in Sanford, Florida.
