A Concert of Works for Flutes, Guitar and Percussion

GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN - On Monday, March 19, the Aquinas College Music Department
will present the world première of the Folias Latin Dance Project in the Kretschmer
Recital Hall of the Art and Music Center on the campus of Aquinas College. Tickets
are $5 per person and will be available at the door but can be purchased in advance
by calling (616) 632-2413.
Andrew Bergeron, guitarist and adjunct faculty member at Aquinas, and Carmen Maret, flutist, both of Folias, combine with composer and percussionist, Scott Harding, and flutist, Tess Miller, for an evening of world premiére compositions and arrangements of Latin and South American dance music. Harding and Bergeron will be presenting two tango inspired pieces that they have composed for flutes, guitar and percussion. The concert will also feature Bergeron’s arrangement of Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and a suite of dance music from the Dominican Republic and Argentina, composed and arranged by Carmen Maret.
