Kick-off event for the College’s lifelong learning program will remember September 11, 2001 with Lt. General Thomas Plewes

(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.) – The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Aquinas College is celebrating 35 years of programs for students fifty years and older with a special public kickoff event featuring a 9/11 tenth anniversary remembrance tribute from Lt. General Thomas Plewes (pictured at right), a retired Army Reserve official and Holland native, who was at the Pentagon on the day of the attacks.

A retired three-star Lt. General, Plewes will retrace the events of the day while bringing a perspective to the decade that followed.

The 9/11 tribute event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center at Aquinas College (1580 E. Fulton, Grand Rapids, MI 49506) on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased by calling (616) 632-2430 or at the OLLI offices.
