On Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m., the Aquinas College Music Department will host a recital with the world-renowned flutist, Rhonda Larson. Larson, who first debuted in the music industry after winning the Nation Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition in 1985, has since won a Grammy Award for her work with the Paul Winter Consort and has toured in Russia, Japan, Central America, and South Africa, where she performed alongside visionaries such as Nelson Mandela and the Dali Lama. She also has two solo recordings, a discography of over 19 commercial recordings, and has recorded numerous flute pieces for CBS’s “Survivor” and “The Restaurant.”

The performance of the famed flutist and now Michigan resident will take place in the Kretschmer Recital Hall inside the Aquinas Art and Music Center. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., with a cost of $10 for general admission and $5 for seniors and students. Join Larson for a night of seasoned entertainment for the whole family.
