Computer Recommendations

For best performance on AQNet, we recommend your personal computer meet certain specifications. While these are not requirements, having or exceeding the following specifications will enhance your AQNet experience. 

Windows 10 or 11, or the current MAC OS are recommended. 

Please note that antivirus software is required prior to connecting to AQNet. Aquinas does not require a specific antivirus package at this time. Often a student's home Internet service provider will offer professional-grade antivirus suites to their subscribers at no additional cost. These licenses can often be used for college-bound students as well (as long as the Internet subscription at home remains valid.) Avira, Avast, Microsoft Security Essentials, or Windows Defender are all available at no cost through publishers' websites.

Laptop PCs:

  • Intel Core i3 or AMD Athlon X2 Processor or better
  • 4 GB Ram  (8 GB recommended)
  • Minimum 120 GB Hard Drive 
  • Wireless Card Supporting 802.11n (dual band) or 802.11ac supporting 5 GHz 
  • Microsoft Windows

  • Antivirus/Anti-spyware software**

Apple Laptops:
